Already signed up to give four poolside sets next year in the Bahamas, at Virgin Voyages’ Beach Club in Bimini, exclusively for passengers on scarlet Lady, Richard Branson’s first adults-only cruise ship, the oscar and grammy award-winning songwriter and record producer will be creating a series of pre-voyage and onboard playlists.

He will also bring his music expertise into play curating the record selection in the world’s first vinyl record shop at sea – Voyage Vinyl.

“I’m thrilled to be part of the Virgin Voyages’Creative Collective, helping lead the charge in music.

Sir Richard Branson and the Virgin brand were legendary game-changers in the music industry and it’s a thrill to join them as they bring that same spirit to sea travel,” Ronson said.

The Beach Club on Bimini will be one of the ports of call in all scarlet Lady’s 2020 sailings from homeport Miami and the exciting line-up of artists booked for its on Deck residency programme includes legendary DJ Diplo.

Signature parties such as scarlet night promises to bring the Glastonbury festive vibe on board with groundbreaking music, art installations, cabaret performances, circus spectacles – and a few surprises. and instead of buffet dining, there will be a selection of over 20 restaurants (no set sittings and no dress code) included in the fare, along with soft drinks and group fitness classes and wi-fi.

Sailing on July 5, the five-night Mayan sol cruise with stops in Costa Maya, Mexico and Bimini on July 9 for Ronson’s poolside performance, starts at £740pp in a double cabin. (virginvoyages.com)
